PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a turbocharger control system for an internal combustion engine wherein boost pressure is controlled by controlling nozzle-opening on the inlet side of an exhaust turbine, and over-revolution of the turbine is prevented.
SOLUTION: The number of revolutions of the turbine is directly or indirectly detected, and the periods of time when the number of turbine revolutions exceeds a critical number of revolutions are accumulated. When the accumulated time T exceeds a first threshold T1, only in transient operation, a minimum value of the nozzle-opening is controlled to the open side (S31, S32). When the accumulated time T exceeds further a second threshold T2, both in stationary and in transient operations, a minimum valve of the nozzle-opening is controlled to the open side (S33, S34).
COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
|
