PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focusing device capable of suitably performing focusing, and to provide optical equipment. SOLUTION: The focusing device (10) includes a photoelectric conversion part (13) converting subject light passing through an optical system (11) into an electrical signal and outputting it, a processing part (18) obtaining a point spread function by using image data generated based on output from the photoelectric conversion part and obtaining the focusing state of the optical system by using the point spread function, and a control part (19) controlling the focal length of the optical system based on output from the processing part.
