<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inflate and deploy an airbag smoothly between a steering wheel and an occupant at a collision of a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The airbag device 20 is disposed at a central part of the steering wheel 10 whose rim 13 is connected to a hub via a spoke 12, and comprises a pad cover 21, the airbag disposed in the pad cover 21 to fracture the pad cover 21 to inflate and deploy for constraining the occupant at a vehicle collision, and an inflator supplying inflation gas to the airbag. The pad cover 21 has an extension 21L extending along the spoke 12 extending from the hub toward the occupant to the rim 13, wherein fracturable portions 21d, 21e fractured at the vehicle collision are set in the extension 21L and a part of the airbag is disposed folded in the extension 21L of the pad cover 21. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
