PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device and a cell phone device capable of informing a user of receipt of mail that requires a reply more reliably. SOLUTION: The present invention includes: a receiving part 31 for receiving a character message (mail); a receipt notification part 32 for notifying of receipt of mail by the receiving part 31; an analysis part 33 for analyzing the content of the mail received by the receiving part 31; a control part 34 for controlling the receipt notification part 32 so as to notify of receipt of the mail in a manner different from when mail that does not include an expression to the effect that a reply is required, when the analysis by the analysis part 33 is that an expression to the effect that a reply is required is included in the content of the mail; and a transmission part 35 for sending mail.
