PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the cooling capacity for a coil end by utilizing a gap existing between the end surface of teeth and the coil end in the axial direction of a stator core, without increasing the axial direction size of the motor as compared with the case where a cooling member is provided in a space between the adjacent coil ends. SOLUTION: The motor is provided with a stator core 17 having a plurality of teeth 16 provided in the inner periphery, a stator coil 19 wound around the teeth 16, and a rotor arranged inside of the stator core 17. The stator coil 19 has the coil ends 22 projecting from both sides of the axial stator core 17. A gap 25 exists between the end surface 21 of the teeth 16 and the coil end 22 in the axial stator core 17. Furthermore, a first cooling pipe 26 is configured to allow a refrigerant to pass therethrough, and a part of the first cooling pipe 26 is arranged in the gap 25. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
