PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic transistor having high mobility and large current on/off ratio and superior in storage stability. SOLUTION: The organic transistor has an organic semiconductor layer, which contains at least one kind of compounds represented by general formula (1). In the formula (1), X<SB>1</SB>to X<SB>16</SB>each independently represent a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, straight-chain, branched or cyclic alkyl group, straight-chain, branched or cyclic alkoxy group, or substituted or unsubstituted aryl group; and a ring A represents a substituted or unsubstituted benzene ring, substituted or unsubstituted naphthalene ring, substituted or unsubstituted thiophene ring, substituted or unsubstituted benzo[b] thiophene ring, or substituted or unsubstituted phenanthrene ring.
