<p>Provided is a quartz glass crucible which, even when having a large opening diameter, is less apt to decline inward during lifting at high temperatures. The quartz glass crucible is composed of an outer layer made of a natural quartz glass and an inner layer made of a synthetic quartz glass. The barrel part of the crucible has such a shape that the barrel part is widened upward. Preferably, the difference in inner diameter between the lower end and the upper end of the widened part is 0.1% or larger. The synthetic-quartz-glass inner layer of the corner part has a thickness which is 20-80% of the wall thickness of the corner-part central part. Preferably, the synthetic-quartz-glass inner layer of the barrel part and the bottom part is thinner than the synthetic-quartz-glass inner layer of the corner part.</p> |
