Provided is a rolling mill, which comprises a casting device for casting molten metal into slabs having a predetermined width, a pair of finish rolls for shaping the slabs by rolling the same, and moving devices capable of moving the finish rolls along the axial directions thereof. The finish rolls have circumferences shaped to have a first contour and a second contour overlapped. The first contour includes end regions, which are so shaped according to an average of the thickness fluctuations of end portions that the widthwise pressure ratios to press the slabs having that thickness may be homogeneous, and a central region interposed between the end regions. The second contour has such a sharper inclination angle with respect to the axial direction at the end regions than at the central region that the spacing between the ends of the finish rolls may vary when one finish roll and the other finish roll are moved in opposite directions by the moving devices.
|
