PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information management system and method capable of managing personal data of a user while protecting the personal data of the user from leaking to a third party. SOLUTION: The information management system includes a client 2 connected to a network 1, a data server 3, and an authentication server 4. The authentication server 4 which does not hold personal information on the user performs user authentication on the basis of a card ID of an IC card 8 of the user read by the client and holds the personal data on the user, but the data server which does not hold the personal information on the user specifies the personal data of the user authenticated, transmits them to the client, and the client outputs the personal data on the user transmitted and personal information read from the IC card as one data.
