PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for removing a road surface marker and a method for removing the road surface marker by which generation of vibrations, noise and powder dust can be suppressed since a chipping device causing large vibrations, noise and powder dust is not used. SOLUTION: The traveling type device 1 for removing the road surface marker includes a heating means 21 for heating the road surface marker B to soften or liquidize it, and a collecting means 31 for collecting the softened or liquidized road surface marker B.
