PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of connecting a caisson capable of connecting caissons to be connected with high water cut-off property and a soil retaining property without requiring a soil improvement and an extensive support. SOLUTION: A shaft 24 is formed at the connection part 17 of the gable end walls 5, 6 of the caissons 1, 2 to be connected. A concrete wall body 28 formed by integrating tightening members 21, 22 attached near the connection part 17 of the gable end walls 5, 6, a reinforcement member 25 inserted into the shaft 24, and a concrete 27 is constructed in the shaft 24. An earth in the district surrounded by the side walls 3', 4' of the caissons 1, 2 and the concrete wall bodies 28, 28 is excavated, and the side walls 3', 4' are removed. A concrete 32 is deposited in the gap between the gable end walls 5, 6 to connect both caissons 1, 2 to each other. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
