PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of dried gel particles having excellent performance and satisfactory productivity. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the dried gel particles, an alkyl cellulose derivative and water are mixed to obtain a kneaded product, the kneaded product is crosslinked by irradiation with a radiation to obtain a paste-like gel, the gel is extruded from a molding hole to form particles and the particle-shaped gel is dried. In the dried gel particles, the alkyl cellulose derivative is a carboxyalkyl cellulose whose carboxyl group is partially replaced with an alkali metal salt, an ammonium salt or an amine salt.
