PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic resin composition excellent in thermal stability, to provided a ray reflector obtained by molding the thermoplastic resin composition, and to provided a molded article of the composition. SOLUTION: The thermoplastic resin composition for use in the production of a light reflector and a molded article contains titanium dioxide having a substantial encapsulation layer containing a metal oxide deposited by thermal decomposition on its particle surface. In the titanium dioxide, the metal oxide forming the surface encapsulation layer is silica, alumina, zirconia or a mixture of any of these, and the difference between water contents of the titanium dioxide at 300°C and 100°C by Karl Fisher method (ΔKF(300-100)) is 300-800 ppm.
