The high-pressure pump has a tappet (14), which serves for indirect support of a piston (12) with a longitudinal axis (X) at a drive shaft (16) over a roller (46), which is pivotally coupled with the tappet. The tappet and the piston are loaded by a pre-stressed return spring (34) for the drive shaft. The tappet related to the longitudinal axis forms a radial expansion of a pressure load, which is axially transferred from the piston to the roller.
