A tool, a tool holder, and a machine tool are provided to drive the tool and obtain higher RPM(Revolution Per Minute) than the spindle of the machine tool without external power supply. A tool(60) comprises a processing unit, a motor(80), a generator(70), an optical signal generating unit, and a light inducing unit. The processing unit processes a work piece. The motor drives the processing unit. The generator generates motor driving power by the torque of the spindle of a machine tool. The optical signal generating unit generates optical signal corresponding to the RPM of the motor. The light inducing unit directs light toward the optical signal generating unit, and outputs optical signal from the optical signal generating unit to the outside. |
