The acoustic panel is made from a perforated acoustic skin, a primary honeycomb structure, a perforated partition, a secondary honeycomb structure and a solid outer skin. The components are assembled on a mould to give the required shape, with the intermediate partition made during assembly from strips of supple sheet material laid between the two honeycomb structures and able to flex to the final curved panel shape. The acoustic panel is made, from the inside outwards, from a perforated acoustic skin (42), a primary honeycomb structure (44), a perforated partition (50), a secondary honeycomb structure (54) and a solid outer skin (60). The components are assembled and stuck together on a mould (80) to give the required shape, with the intermediate partition (50) made during assembly from strips of supple sheet material laid edge-to-edge between the two honeycomb structures and able to flex approximately to the final curved panel shape, with a maximum error of between 2 and 2.5 mm. |
