PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide facsimile equipment and a facsimile transmission method which can prevent erroneous transmission of fax document by an inputting error for a fax number caused by operator's faulty memory. SOLUTION: The facsimile equipment 1 is equipped with: a destination number inputting processing section 40 for storing and displaying an input fax number; and a fax transmission section 42 for dialing the fax number and transmitting fax document. The facsimile equipment further includes an erroneous transmission preventing section 43 which consists of a mode switching section 44 for switching the input mode between a first mode where the fax number is inputted from the head and a second mode where the fax number is inputted from the tail and a display control section 45 for switching the fax number inputted in one input mode into an undisplayed state in the other input mode, which compares the fax number inputted in the first mode and the fax number inputted in the second mode, and which starts up the fax transmission section 42 when the two fax numbers are coincident with each other.
