PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electronic apparatus capable of preventing or reducing impact sound between a lens part and a member adjacent to the lens part caused by vibration of a vibration generator, in a portable electronic apparatus with a vibration generator and a camera part incorporated in a housing, and to provide its control method. SOLUTION: This portable electronic apparatus is provided with a housing in which a vibration generator 5, and a camera part 6 provided with a lens part 61 having a lens 63 arranged in a lens barrel 62, and a lens part movement mechanism 64 moving the lens part 61, and having an automatic focus function carrying out focusing by controlling the lens part movement mechanism 64 are incorporated. The portable electronic apparatus is further provided with a lens part control part controlling the lens part movement mechanism 64 in response to the behavior of the vibration generator 5.
