PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-dimensional scanner in which a scanning center position and a scanning amplitude or the like in a comparatively slow speed scanning direction are certainly measured. SOLUTION: The two-dimensional scanner has: a light source means 22; a first deflection means 31; a second deflection means 32; a photodetecting element; a modulation means 21; and a calculation means 7. The first deflection means deflects and scans the luminous flux emitted from the light source means in a first direction. The second deflection means deflects and scans the luminous flux at a comparatively low frequency in a second direction which intersects with the first direction. The photodetecting element is so formed to detect the luminous fluxes which come to a region A and a region B including at least two predetermined positions or their equivalent positions which are separated from each other in the second direction on a face to be scanned. The modulation means is synchronized with the scanning period of the second deflection means and makes the light source means emit light at the timing at which the luminous flux is guided onto the photodetecting element. The calculation means calculates and generates a signal for adjusting the operation of the second deflection means or the modulation means on the basis of the information detected by the photodetecting element.
