PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new slightly water-soluble antistatic polymerizable compound which contains neither metal nor metal ion, excels in transparency, solubility in (compatibility with) resin or solvent, heat resistance and moisture resistance in itself or its polymer, hardly bleeds out, and can function as an antistatic agent. SOLUTION: The slightly water-soluble antistatic polymerizable compound comprises a quaternary ammonium cation moiety having an ethylenically unsaturated double bond and an anion moiety selected from the group consisting of (C<SB>n</SB>F<SB>2n+1</SB>SO<SB>2</SB>)<SB>3</SB>C<SP>-</SP>, (C<SB>n</SB>F<SB>2n+1</SB>SO<SB>2</SB>)<SB>2</SB>N<SP>-</SP>, (C<SB>n</SB>F<SB>2n+1</SB>SO<SB>2</SB>)(C<SB>m</SB>F<SB>2m+1</SB>CO)N<SP>-</SP>, SCN<SP>-</SP>, R<SP>9</SP>SO<SB>3</SB><SP>-</SP>and R<SP>9</SP>OSO<SB>3</SB><SP>-</SP>(wherein R<SP>9</SP>represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group which may have a substituent, an alkenyl group which may have a substituent, an alkynyl group which may have a substituent, an aryl group which may have a substituent or a heterocyclic group which may have a substituent).
