PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified polypropylene resin and a method for producing it wherein reduction of molecular weight is small, a content of a grafted unsaturated carboxylic acid and/or its derivative is large, and the productivity is excellent. SOLUTION: In this method for producing the modified polypropylene resin, a mixture of a polypropylene resin (A), unsaturated carboxylic acid and/or its derivative (B), and an organic peroxide (C) having a peroxyester structure or a diacylperoxide structure is melted and mixed together.
