The method involves delivering processing medium by an application device for application on a paper or cardboard. A web fault in a rolling direction of the web before one of application devices is monitored, and the fault is detected. Processing and supply of the processing medium delivered from a distribution body, is interrupted by the application device. The processing of the medium is interrupted by the application device and the process is continued with the application device after a time, which does not exist two minutes and lies less than five seconds. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for interruption of supply of the processing medium.
