The training device has timing circuits, a time measuring device, and a clock timer or a random generator, which determines time interval, time point or time length. A detection system (ES) such as sensors and measuring devices or an absolute mechanical arrangement, is provided for measuring or determining correct or unwanted behavior of an animal. A treat dispenser (LS) is integrated to the training device to dispense treats for reward such that an action is ensured without the presence of a human. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a separate retrieving device comprising a retraction device (2) a method for encouraging an animal (3) a method for holding an animal in a desired posture (4) a method for preventing barking of animals (5) a remote control comprising a signal transmitter (6) a method for automatic rewarding of a desired behavior of an animal (7) a method for automatic training of the animal.
