PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base isolation mechanism using inertial mass dampers for reducing both response acceleration and response displacement at the same time. SOLUTION: The first inertial mass damper 4 is provided between a structure 1 and the fixed end in parallel to a structure spring 2, and an inertia massΨ1 of the first inertial mass damper 4 is set so that an acceleration response magnification and a displacement response magnification do not exceed target values in a high vibration frequency region. Between the structure and the fixed end, an additional vibration system is provided with the second inertial mass damper 5 and an additional spring 6 connected in series to each other. The vibration frequency of the additional vibration system is synchronized with a base isolation vibration frequency.
