PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding apparatus capable of reducing labors for works and shortening working times by reducing work processes. SOLUTION: The welding apparatus includes a rotary member 2 having a projecting part 2c formed on a distal end thereof; a rotation mechanism 2 for rotating the rotary member 2; and a movement mechanism that relatively moves the rotary member 2 and metallic members P1, P2 along an abutting part PT such that the projecting part 2c passes through the abutting part PT where metallic members P1, P2 are mutually abutted. The welding apparatus performs a friction stirring welding by softening metallic members P1, P2 and unitizing them with friction generated by the insertion of the projection part 2c into the abutting part PT. The welding apparatus also includes a burr removing member 3 that can relatively move metallic members P1, P2 with the rotary member 2, and reduce burrs generated during bonding process for inserting the projecting part 2c into the abutting part PT.
