ELECTROLYTE AND BATTERY

Disclosed is a battery using an electrolyte which can assure good ion conductivity at low temperatures. Specifically, a solid electrolyte (16) is arranged between a positive electrode (14) wherein a positive electrode active material layer (14B) is formed on a positive electrode collector (14A) and a negative electrode (15) wherein a negative electrode active material layer (15B) is formed on a negative electrode collector (15A). The solid electrolyte (16) contains a carbon cluster such as a fullerene and an electrolyte salt such as a lithium salt. Consequently, lowering of ion conductivity at low temperatures can be suppressed when compared with electrolytes which are composed of a polymer compound such as polyethylene oxide and a lithium salt.
