<p>[PROBLEMS] Provided is a gear wheel pump or a motor in which friction resistance between a side surface of a gear wheel and a sliding surface of a side plate is reduced and driving torque is reduced and the life of which can be extended by the reduction of friction between the side surface of the gear wheel and the sliding surface of the side plate. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A gear wheel pump or motor comprises a pair of gear wheels (3, 5) engaged with each other and side plates (6, 7) which are arranged on both sides of the gear wheels (3, 5) and which have sliding surfaces (61, 71) which slide on the side surfaces (31, 51) of the gear wheels (3, 5). Sliding regions (31a, 51a) substantially in parallel with the sliding surfaces (61, 71) of the side plates (6, 7) and non-sliding regions (31b, 51b) which are not in parallel with the sliding surfaces (61, 71) of the side plates (6, 7) and which define between the regions and the sliding surfaces (61, 71) a gap (S) in which operating oil can flow are formed on the side surfaces (31, 51) of the gear wheels (3, 5). Oil film pressure caused by a wedge film effect is generated in the gap (S) according to the rotational operation of the gear wheels (3, 5).</p> |
