<p>A chaotic optical time domain reflectometer comprises: a chaotic optical laser (1), an optical fiber coupler I (2), a photoelectric detector, an A/D converter, a signal processing unit (9) and a display unit (10). The chaotic optical signal generated by the chaotic optical laser (1) is divided into the detecting light I and the reference light II via the optical fiber coupler I (2). The detecting light I is transmitted to the optical fiber (4) to be measured via an optical circulator (3), the reflected light collected by the photoelectric detector I (5) will be transformed into digital signal via the A/D converter I (6), so as to transmit the digital signal into the signal processing unit (9). The reference light II is collected by the photoelectric detector I (7) and transformed into digital signal via the A/D converter II (8), and then the digital signal will be transmitted into the signal process unit (9) which will output said two digital signals to the display unit (10) after cross correlation.
