PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long-lived lithium secondary battery improved in life time characteristics. SOLUTION: In this lithium secondary battery, a spinel-based lithium manganate, having chemical formula represented by Li1+x Mn2-x-y My O4-z Az (0<=x<=0.2, 0<=y<=0.2, 0<z<=0.05), wherein A is F or S element doped in an oxygen lacked part and M is Al element with part of manganese substituting, and further having a specific surface area of 0.5 m<2> /g or less is used as a positive electrode material. The crystalline structure can be stabilized by doping the oxygen lack part with another element to suppress the elution of manganese, and the specific surface area can be reduced by partially substituting manganese and furthermore making lithium excessive to suppress elution of manganese. |
