<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for easily magnifying and displaying a received or read-out document, and to provide a technology for transmitting or printing only a desired part in a document. <P>SOLUTION: The facsimile device divides a document into a plurality of images and assigns input keys, and then displays a key map indicating the assigned keys. When an input key assigned to a magnified display unit is depressed, that region is magnified and displayed.
