In a 2-motor drive mode with connection of both motors MG1 and MG2 to a driveshaft 67 by means of a transmission 60, a hybrid vehicle 20 sets torque commands Tm1* and Tm2* of the motors MG1 and MG2 to make a work performed by the motor MG2 substantially equal to a work performed by the motor MG1 and to ensure output of a torque equivalent to a preset torque demand Tr* to the driveshaft 67 (steps S130 to S150). This arrangement connects both the two motors to the driveshaft by means of the speed change-transmission assembly and ensures continuous output of a relatively large torque.
