Device for electrically actuating a flush process in a sanitary device

The device has an operating plate (2) made from glass or another electrically non-conductive material. The operating plate has a touch key which is attached to a controller for operating a drain or a water valve. The operating plate has a switch i.e. on-off switch, by which the touch key or the controller is deactivatable. A timing element is attached to the switch and suspends deactivation of the touch key or the controller after expiration of given or predetermined time interval. The switch is formed from a reed switch.
