The method involves transmitting a radio frequency identification (RFID)- and/or near field communication (NFC) label including parking space information e.g. license plate information, of a vehicle to a RFID- and NFC-compatible portable device e.g. personal digital assistant, and/or to a mobile phone by RFID- and NFC-interaction between smartposters, such that a user i.e. driver, of the vehicle can read the parking space information by operating the portable device and/or the mobile phone. The smartposters are provided at a group of parking spaces of a parking facility.
