<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underwater agitation type diffuser which can discharge a carrier without fail without causing blockage even when the carrier flows inversely into an air supply pipe and which can ensure a stable high-efficiency agitation and diffusion operation for a long time. SOLUTION: This underwater agitation type diffuser has a casing 5, a diffusion rotor 7 installed in the casing 5 and having an impeller 8 attached to the trunk periphery, a driving machine 6 for driving the diffusion rotor 7, and an air supply pipe 3 for supplying air to an agitation and diffusion mechanism section 2 and is installed in a reaction treatment tank 1. By rotating the diffusion rotor 7 and supplying air through the air supply pipe 3 to the agitation and diffusion mechanism section 2, the diffuser carries out agitation and diffusion. The air supply pipe 3 is formed into an air supply channel comprising a horizontal air supply trough section 24 which is almost horizontally installed with some clearance from the inner bottom surface of the reaction treatment tank 1 and of which the section crossing the longitudinal axis direction at right angle is inverse-U-shaped and a rising jet-air pipe section 15 comprising a pipe which is installed vertically and of which the lower end is connected to the horizontal air supply trough section 24 and the upper end is equipped with an air jet port 16 and is exposed to the agitation and diffusion mechanism section 2.</p> |
