Method for managing remote requests for multimedia contents

The method involves determining an insertion instant of a data stream corresponding to a received remote access request based on rate profiles of digital data stream, where the instant corresponds to an instant insertion of requested stream or retarded insertion. A condition is verified on an insertion time window defined from an insertion instant associated to a duration corresponding to a broadcasting time (Tn) of the requested stream. The condition is satisfied, if total bit rate corresponding to a sum of the profiles is lesser than/equal to a capacity threshold of a distribution network. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an apparatus connectable to a distribution network of a multimedia content broadcasting system (2) a multimedia content broadcasting system comprising a server.
