FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of proppant, meant for use in the oil industry as a propping agent during hydraulic fracturing. In the method of making proppant, used when extracting oil through hydraulic fracturing, involving deposition on granules of bactericide and silicon hydrophobisator, the said deposition is done through successive processing of calcinated magnesium silicate granules with a solution of a bactericide preparation in amount of 0.2-2.5 wt % of granules in active substance, and then with the said hydrophobisator in amount of 0.3-2.0 wt % of granules with subsequent washing with hot water.
