A wireless power transmitting apparatus for a computer input and output device and a method thereof for increasing the efficiency of power transmission are provided to operate computer peripherals or an I/O unit without a battery. A transmission power generating unit(20) converts the power received from a computer(10) into the transmission power. A transmission power generating unit wirelessly transmits the transmission power in an electromagnetic induction mode. A magnetic resonance coupler(30) is positioned between an input/output device and the transmission power generating unit. The transmission power generating unit and I/O unit are magnetically combined. The magnetic resonance coupler receives the transmission power generated in the transmission power generating unit in the magnetic resonance mode.
