A system and a method for monitoring leakage using remote meter-reading data are provided to determine leakage accurately by comparing added gauge data at each pipe line and gauge data at each pipe. A generational gathering apparatus(210) collects gauge data at each household through a measurement device(215) of each household, and collection apparatus(220) collects pipe line gauge data through the measurement device of each pipe line. The gauge data of each household corresponding to the pipe line which is identical in household gauge data is added. Total pipe line gauge data and pipe line gauge data are compared and whether leaked or not is determined.
