A digital image processing apparatus and a control method thereof are provided to calculate a focus distance of different sizes of captured images and display the images. An image input unit(310) comprises an image capturing element for receiving an image inputted through a lens. A focus distance adjustor(370) controls a focus distance corresponding to the distance between the lens and image capturing element. A controller(320) changes the focus distance into a converted focus distance corresponding to the other image capturing. A display unit(350) displays the changed focus distance.
