A method for teaching an installation position of a backup pin of a part mounter is provided to improve operation efficiency by visually teaching an installation position of a backup pin to operator through a laser beam. A position of at least two or more supporting points is determined on a bottom surface of a substrate(S102). A first coordinate value for defining a position of each supporting point is stored(S103). A second coordinate value is determined by the first coordinate value(S104). The second coordinate value defines a position of an installation point of a backup pin on a backup table. A position corresponding to the second coordinate value is displayed on the backup table in order to teach a position of the installation point(S105). A laser beam generating device irradiates a laser beam on the position of the installation point on the backup table.
