A system and a method for monitoring a rail are provided to perform rail monitoring by detecting a defect and temperature of the rail through a CCD(Charge-Coupled Device) camera and a thermal image camera. An image shooting part(110) includes one or more thermal image cameras. The image shooting part obtains a thermal image about rail temperature distribution after a train is passed. An image processing part(120) analyzes the thermal image about the rail temperature distribution obtained by the image shooting part. A position detecting part(180) detects a rail detecting position. A control switch part includes one or more switches operated by user. A display alarming part(190) displays a rail monitoring result. A monitoring database part(170) stores the rail monitoring result. A control part(160) controls operations of each part. |
