A backlight is provided to reduce unit price while improving display quality. A back cover(3) comprises a lower substrate and side covers. A light guide plate(2) is arranged on the lower substrate. CCFL(Cold Cathode Fluorescence Lamp)s(1) are surrounded by the side covers. The CCFLs are arranged in four sides of the light guide plate. The CCFLs are two lamps having an L shape. Each lamp is arranged in two adjacent sides to the light guide plate.
