PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller and a control method for a pressurized fluidized bed boiler stably retaining the pressurized fluidized bed boiler, and capable of preventing the collapse of load rates if there are a plurality of the pressurized fluidized bed boilers. SOLUTION: In the controller 18 of the pressurized fluidized bed boiler, when supplying CWP to an A furnace 15 an a B furnace 16, a total fuel amount of the CWP is determined on the basis of a command value setting an output of a power generating device 17 carrying out generation by steam from the A furnace 15 and the B furnace 16 and an output of the power generating device 17, and the total fuel amount is distributed according to the A furnace 15 and the B furnace 16. The controller 18 is equipped with a control means for determining amounts of the CWP supplied to the A furnace 15 and the B furnace 16 on the basis of coal amounts of the CWP supplied to the A furnace 15 and the B furnace 16, and coal amounts set with respect to the A furnace 15 and the B furnace 16.
