<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method and apparatus with which stable toner developing property is secured regardless of the amount of toner consumption, and excellent fixing smear performance in a non-contact fixing process and excellent image quality are provided without inducing vertical stripes or irregular density in an image on a recording member after fixation, and also to provide the image forming method and the image forming apparatus coping with various media from a thin paper sheet to a thick sheet, or a rough paper or a borderless image. <P>SOLUTION: A toner is disclosed, which contains at least a binder resin, a colorant, an IR ray absorbent having a maximum absorption wavelength within an oscillation wavelength range of a light source, and a fixed surface protective agent. The toner is characterized in that the IR ray absorbent present near the fixed surface protective agent occupies not less than 60% of the whole IR ray absorbent when the cross section of the toner is observed, and the absorbent exists more in the vicinity of the surface than in a toner center region, but is not exposed on the toner surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
