PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distortion compensating apparatus designed to shorten time required to select a filter coefficient therein, and to improve resistivity against variation in the electric power of a transmitting signal. SOLUTION: The distortion compensating apparatus has a feature of controlling to get an error from the transmitting signal and a feedback signal and to select a filter coefficient to minimize the error. Further, the error brought from the transmitting signal and the feedback signal is normalized by the transmitting signal.
