PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently set an interpolation point required for creating a color conversion table. SOLUTION: In RGB values distributed uniformly in increments of approximately 512 in an RGB space, the RGB value registered for each Lab lattice point distributed uniformly in a CIELAB space is varied within a range of a variation width±256 in a variation step 128 (S206), and a colorimetry value to the RGB value after the variation is calculated by interpolation operation (S207). When it is determined that the color difference between the calculated colorimetry value and the Lab lattice point to be processed is smaller than that registered in the Lab lattice point (S208, S209:YES), the registered color difference is updated (S210). After that, when it is determined that variation processing within a range of the variation width of±256 is completed (S212:YES), the variation width and the variation step are updated to a 1/4 value, respectively (S213), and the variation processing within a range of variation width after the update is started.
