PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of removing a photosensitive layer of electrophotographic photoreceptor which permits the recycling as an electrophotographic photoreceptor excellent in photoreceptor characteristics, to provide a method of inspecting the electrophotographic photoreceptor, and also to provide a method of manufacturing the electrophotographic photoreceptor. SOLUTION: Provided is a method of removing a photosensitive layer from the electrophotographic photoreceptor made by successively laminating: an under-coating layer comprising inorganic particles and an alcohol-soluble nylon resin; and a photosensitive layer comprising a charge generating agent, a charge transport agent, and a binder resin on a conductive base. The method of removing photosensitive layer of electrophotographic photoreceptor is characterized in that: the cleaning is performed while causing a cleaning member impregnated with a first solvent containing an aromatic hydrocarbon, to bring into contact with the photosensitive layer; and, thereafter, the cleaning is performed by using a second solvent without rubbing the photosensitive layer.
