PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superior organo luminescent semiconductor nanocrystal probe for biological applications. SOLUTION: A luminescent semiconductor nanocrystal compound, capable of linking to an affinity molecule and capable of emitting electromagnetic radiation in a narrow wavelength band, when excited includes: (a) a semiconductor nanocrystal capable of emitting light in a narrow wavelength band, when excited; and (b) one or more linking agent linked to the semiconductor nanocrystal and capable of linking to the affinity molecule.
