PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical characteristic measuring apparatus capable of finding the optical characteristic value of a lens with high accuracy while using a screen whose concavities and convexities are uneven. SOLUTION: An optical characteristic measuring apparatus 1 has a control section 20 that controls a drive mechanism 21 to dispose a screen 112 sequentially in two or more positions and controls an LED 101 and a light-receiving device 115 to perform measurement of a test lens L in each position. A computing section 23 computes the optical characteristic value of the test lens L in accordance with two or more results of light reception obtained by the light-receiving device 115. This makes it possible to average out the influence of the concavities and convexities of the screen 112 and thereby find the optical characteristic value with high accuracy while using the screen 112 whose concavities and convexities are uneven.
