AN ANTI-CANCER CYTOTOXIC MONOCLONAL ANTIBODY

The present invention relates to a method for producing cancerous disease modifying antibodies (CDMAB). Antibodies generated in mice, upon immunization with malignant cells of human lung adenocarcinoma tumour tissue are screened for cytotoxicity against a variety of cancer cell lines. An anti-cancer cytotoxic monoclonal antibody (mAb) is isolated, produced by the hybridoma AR99A184. 3 deposited with IDAC as Accession Number 120907-03, which is cytotoxic to human lung cancer cell lines, and reduces tumour burden in a human breast cancer xenograft model. The mAb also binds to several cancer cell lines but is not cytotoxic in a non-cancerous cell line. This mAb can be used to treat primary tumours and tumour metastases. This mab can be conjugated to toxins, enzymes, radioactive compounds, and hematogenous cells.
